CLASSES & LEVELS

Sokol classes are divided by age, gender and ability.  Within each age level class, all ability levels are taught as needed.

  • TOTS Gymnasts must be 3 or 4 years old and toilet trained.  Classtime consists of a basic introduction to fundamental gymnastics skills as well as an emphasis on locomotor skills, fun and games.
  • SOKOLADS AND SOKOLETTES Gymnasts are between the ages of 5 and 11.  Fundamental gymnastics skills are taught and mastered to prepare for advancement to higher ability levels.  Gymnasts are introduced in beginning levels to all gymnastics equipment and are taught skills that are required for their competition routines.  Marching and group calisthenics are taught for performance in the annual exhibition, Sokol Day, and National Slet.
  • JR. BOYS AND JR. GIRLS Gymnasts are between the ages of 12 and 17.  All of the gymnastics equipment is used as the gymnasts progress to learn more advanced skills as they move ahead at a faster pace.  Advanced skills are taught through proper gymnastics progression to ensure safe and correct execution.  Marching and calisthenics also become more advanced in the Juniors Class.  Class meets twice a week.
  • SR. MEN AND SR. WOMEN Gymnasts are age 18 and older.  Senior class has an emphasis on light aerobic exercise, stretching, marching and calisthenics.  Gymnastics is also taught to those who are willing and able for all ability levels, novice through optional.
