SOKOL USA CHICAGO GYMNASTICS

The Sokol Community Center is located on the northwest side of Chicago at the corner of Elston Ave. and Kilbourn Ave (one block north of Lawrence Ave.) in the North Mayfair neighborhood.  Sokol USA Lodge 306 Chicago was formed in 1947 when many other Sokols combined forces and members to create one large new lodge.  After working out of other halls in the area, our members worked hard to raise funds to build a new home at our current location.   We have operated out of our current location since it was erected in 1962.  

Sokol USA Lodge 306 Chicago is a Slovak educational, cultural and physical fitness organization specializing in gymnastics classes for our neighbors in the community.  We have a proud tradition of success as we have seen thousands of young people and adults come through our doors to participate in our physical fitness programs.   We do offer gymnastics classes and other physical fitness activities for adults as well.  

Our staff is one of the most experienced in the city.  We are all trained through Sokol Instructors Training Schools and various clinics.  Our staff is certified by AAU, SafeSport, Positive Coaching Alliance, and are first-aid/CPR/concussion certified.  

We also hold many activities and dinners in our hall.  Our building is a multi-purpose facility with large halls upstairs and downstairs.  If you are interested in renting a hall, please email us at sokolusachicago@gmail.com.

The Sokol Community Center is home to our Lodge 306 Museum and Library.   It was donated by the Dr. George and Ann Matula family and added to the building in 1968, and contains thousands of volumes on Czech/Slovak history, culture, and literature.  There are also several volumes on Sokol History and many American classics.  Our museum contains many items and exhibits honoring Sokol Lodge 306 history, Slovak Heroes of the Past, and the History of the Sokol Slet.
